The final meeting of the current Meaford council was held on Monday November 24, and those councillors who will not be returning for the next term of council were recognized, while those councillors who will be part of the next council provided a hint of what to expect after the new council is sworn in on December 1 at Meaford Hall.

Clumpus Wins Mayor's Chair

Meaford voters elected Barb Clumpus to be the next Mayor of the municipality in the October 27 municipal election.  Clumpus earned 356 more votes than her nearest opponent, Jim McPherson.

Last Chance to Vote!

mfd ballot box2014As of Monday morning (October 27), the last day of voting in this year's municipal election, more than 40 percent of eligible voters have already cast their ballots for the 2014 municipal election in Meaford.

As of right now, 40.5% of electors have voted.  The rate of voting is fairly steady and people must be logged in to vote by telephone or internet before 8 p.m. However, we encourage people not to wait until the last minute,” said Meaford's Clerk, Rob Tremblay on Monday morning.
