MP Larry Miller Encourages Local Organizations to Apply for New Horizons for Seniors Funding

The NHSP is a federal grants and contributions program that supports projects led or inspired by seniors who seek to improve the lives of others in their communities.

Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards

parliamentRecently, the Prime Minister Stephen Harper, announced the call for nominations for the Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards.

The call for nominations is now open and will remain open until May 9 th , 2014.

The Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards consist of 17 awards in total: 15 regional awards – three for each of the five regions across Canada (Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies, British Columbia and the North), and two national awards.

Miller Seconds M-452-Firearms Act

parliamentRecently, Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, seconded M- 452, a motion put forward in the House of Commons by Cheryl Gallant, MP for Renfrew- Nipissing-Pembroke, that deals with firearms reclassification, and various reforms to firearms regulation. M-452 would amend Sections 117, 118 and 119 of the Firearms Act to establish a “Firearms Experts Technical Committee” with the goal of restoring public confidence in the functions and operations of the Canadian Firearms Registration System.
