Loud Music Leads to Arrest

OPPLogoOn Thursday, February 13, 2014 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a Meaford man for mischief after he refused to turn his music volume down, despite several warnings from police.

Police attended an apartment complex on Parker Street in urban Meaford on three separate occasions after receiving complaints from residents regarding the on-going noise.  The tenant was found to have been drinking and was belligerent to police and other residents.

Driver Charged With Careless Driving After Three Car Collision

OPPLogoGrey County OPP responded to a three vehicle collision on Sykes St. South in Meaford Tuesday afternoon (February 4).

A 2008 Pontiac van travelling southbound on Sykes Street collided into the back of a stopped 2002 Chevrolet Impala which then struck the back of a 2008 Honda Civic.  The vehicles had been stopped waiting for another vehicle to make a left turn onto Margaret Street.

Fewer Charges in 2013 Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have reported significantly fewer impaired driving charge and Warn Range Suspension totals for their 2013 Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Campaign.

Know The Law & Get Trained Before You Ride

SnowmobilesOn Thursday, January 2, 2014, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted motorized snow vehicle patrols on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) Trails in the Municipality of Meaford and the Township of Chatsworth. 

As a result, 15 snowmobiles were checked, in which 1 charge and 4 warnings were issued under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act (MSVA) as well as a warning under the Trespass to Property Act (TPA).
