Legion Contributes to Hospital Foundation

Steve Rice (right), President of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 32 Meaford, presents a cheque in the amount of $5,550. on behalf of the Ontario Command Charitable Foundation to Meaford Hospital Foundation President, Brian Renken (left). This contribution purchased vitals monitors equipment for the Meaford Hospital.

Despite the efforts by residents to avoid frozen pipes, the extreme cold weather has caused the watermain on Collingwood Street to become frozen, stopping water flow to all residences on Collingwood Street between Thompson Street and Cook Street.

Risk of Frozen Water Pipes in Meaford

Due to an increased number of homes having issues with frozen pipes, the Municipality of Meaford suggests residents with concerns about frozen pipes keep a tap running 24 hours a day with a steady stream about the size of a pencil. Residents will be informed when it is recommended to cease running their water.
