Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce Launches Mental and Physical Stimulation Program

The Alzheimer Society of Grey- Bruce is one of six local Societies in Ontario introducing a new physical and mental activity program for individuals in the early to mid-stages of dementia and for their care partners.

March is National Brain Awareness Month. With increasing evidence linking a physically active and mentally stimulating lifestyle to reducing the risk of developing dementia or slowing the progression of the disease it is an appropriate time to introduce the new Minds in Motion® program in Grey-Bruce.

Meaford Public Library’s Koffee House Reads starts in March

The Meaford Public Library will be hosting its third annual Koffee House Reads author series beginning later this month. Koffee House Reads features local authors speaking about their books and the writing process at Meaford venues.

Tickets are $10 per event (or $25 for all three), and include delicious treats and beverages.

MACA to Show “Trashed” Documentary

trashed225The Meaford United Church (MUC) Outreach Committee in conjunction with Meaford Area Community Association (MACA) and Transition Meaford is hosting a movie showing of the documentary “Trashed”.

Jeremy Irons stars in this documentary about global waste. In Trashed he visits once pristine places to show how they have been tainted by garbage.
