The Grey County Historical society is holding its November meeting in Meaford in the Terrace Room of Meaford Hall on Wednesday, November 19 at 1:30 pm. The guest speaker is local beekeeper, Richard Elzby who will be talking about the history of beekeeping both worldwide and here in Ontario.

Meaford Author Jake Doherty Reading at the OSNGUPL

jake bookOn Monday, November 17, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library (OSNGUPL) is hosting local author Jake Doherty. Tickets are available at the OSNGUPL located at 824 1st Avenue West. Tickets are free of charge.

Though born in New Brunswick, he now lives in Meaford near Owen Sound and spends considerable time sitting on his deck, drinking white wine -- or a good single malt -- and watching the sun go down on Georgian Bay.

Debut Novel by Meaford Author Captures Love and War

Meaford's Paul Osborn has released his first novel, The Remnants, which is a work of fiction woven into historical context.  Osborn credits a love of hearing his grandfather's stories about his experiences during The Great War for his inspiration and desire to write the novel.
