Editor,

This morning I was out walking in the farm country, looking at the beautiful blue early morning sky. From where I was, I could see at least 50km in all directions. What I didn’t see was vapour trails.

Seven months ago our federal election was about climate change and carbon taxes. Scientists and environmentalists have tried over the years to warn us about carbon and that we only have ten years. The NDP and Green wanted no more fossil fuels from the ground. Greta was tearful at the UN.

What these people couldn’t do, COVID-19 has. China’s carbon output has dropped by 25%, their oil consumption has dropped also. I’ll happen to guess most countries have now met the Paris Accord. Cruise ships have stopped, airplanes and tourism halted, and people locked in their own countries.

Praying that this virus is eradicated soon, and that we can get on with our lives. Governments will be throwing billions of dollars to get our industry where it was, oil and airlines will receive help. This massive debt will be a responsibility on my grandkids.

So, we are where the Paris accord wants us, why go back?? I’m just putting a thought out there!!
