MCS Taking The 2014 Waste-Free Lunch Challenge

waste-free-lunch225For some, the concept of sorting and weighing lunch waste might seem like a sticky, smelly nuisance. Not so for the students at Meaford Community School who are participating in Recycling Council of Ontario’s Waste-Free Lunch Challenge as part of Waste Reduction Week in Canada (Oct. 20-24, 2014).

These students have embraced environmentalism wholeheartedly and proven that waste minimization is as easy as reduce, reuse, recycle!

EQAO Results in Bluewater Encouraging

“Food For Thought” Breakfast and Lunch Program Coming to GBSS

It will be served from a central island in the cafeteria where all students and staff can access healthy nutritious food.

Bringing a Sense of Wonder to the Classroom With Butterflies

The Monarch Teacher Network recently held a two day workshop in Meaford. Teachers from several Ontario school boards gathered at St Vincent Euphrasia Elementary to learn all about the Monarch Butterfly, a spectacular species at risk pollinator, and how to bring a sense of wonder into their classroom this September.
